Diversicare Announces Steve Nee as New CEO

Diversicare announced Steve Nee as its new CEO after conducting a long search following the departure of the company’s previous chief executive last August.

Nee joins Diversicare with more than a decade of experience in long-term care delivery and administration in positions of increasing responsibility, including administrator, vice president of operations, chief operating officer, and president, the company shared in a press release Wednesday.

Nee’s resume includes roles with American Health Communities, Signature HealthCARE and Providence Health, according to his LinkedIn profile.

“I am incredibly excited to be joining such a talented and compassionate team,” Nee said in the press release. “I believe that Diversicare’s resident-centered approach, paired with an unrivaled commitment to service excellence, positions our organization well for success and future growth. As CEO, I’m committed to fostering an environment where personal connection and trust thrive between each resident, team member, and community we serve.”

Tennessee-based Diversicare provides post-acute care services to skilled nursing center patients and residents in 43 centers throughout five states, primarily in the Southeast, Midwest and Southwest United States.

The previously publicly traded company was acquired by DAC Acquisition more than a year ago. The deal subsequently attracted scrutiny related to DAC CEO Ephram Lahasky.

“We look forward to benefiting from his vision and wisdom for the future of Diversicare,” said Becky Bodie, Diversicare’s chief operating officer.

According to the company, Nee earned his Masters in Business Administration and a Graduate Certificate in Aging Services Leadership from Lipscomb University. He also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Maryville College.
