Ignite Medical Resorts Partners With Thrive Personalized Medical Rehabilitation to Manage 3 SNFs

Ignite Medical Resorts is continuing on its growth path through its most recent partnership with Thrive Personalized Medical Rehabilitation to manage daily operations at three of Thrive’s centers in Illinois.

As of Sept. 1 Ignite will serve as the management provider for Thrive of Fox Valley, Thrive of Lisle and Thrive of Lake County.

Ignite operates 14 skilled nursing facilities across Illinois, Wisconsin, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma and most recently Texas.

Both Ignite and Thrive operate newly built facilities that focus squarely on short-term rehabilitation — a bit of a “unicorn” in the post-acute care space.

“I think that when you look at a facility that looks more like a boutique hotel but has clinical care and services that rival advanced care settings like acute rehab and LTCH, you have the best of both worlds, right? Then you throw on top of that employee culture and in my world, that’s everything. That’s the secret sauce,” Ignite CEO Tim Fields told Skilled Nursing News.

Thrive, which has been in operation since 2020, boasts 52,000 square feet of space at each of its centers, private rooms, personalized medication cabinets, state-of-the-art therapy gyms, individual bathing suites and in-wall oxygen for patients with pulmonary care needs.

With this partnership, Ignite will now operate the only four newly built skilled nursing facilities in the Chicago metro area, according to Fields.

The collaboration ultimately came down to the right timing as discussions began back at the end of 2021, according to Brad Haber, principal and owner of Innovative Health, Thrive’s parent company.

Haber also sees opportunities for this collaboration to grow beyond the three buildings in the state of Illinois.

Staffing at the facility level is not expected to change, but Ignite will provide a group of support resources in areas such as marketing and business development, clinical reimbursement and human resources that will work with the Thrive teams.

Ignite has spent a considerable amount of time developing its culture, according to Fields, and plans to put a lot of energy around that as well as recruitment and retention with these three centers.
