Golden LivingCenters Rebrands to Brickyard Healthcare

Indiana-based Golden LivingCenters on Monday announced a rebranding initiative to become Brickyard Healthcare.

The rebranding decision was made to coincide with the company’s efforts to evolve from a large skilled nursing facility operator across many states to a regional family of health care providers “rooted in the Midwest,” Brickyard said in a statement.

The name “Brickyard” was chosen as a nod to Golden Living’s ties to Indianapolis and the state; the operator, originally founded in 1963, currently has 23 locations throughout Indiana.

Golden Living was once among the largest U.S. nursing home operators, but downsized its operations in a series of moves over a period of years, including transfer of community operations to organizations such as Diversicare and the ill-fated Skyline.

Brickyard will only operate the Indiana communities, not any communities outside the state that were formerly part of Golden Living, according to Kelli Luneborg-Stern with Trifecta Public Strategies and the media contact for the operator.

The company has changed its mission statement as part of the rebranding initiative – its new tag line is “In the Care of Community,” Brickyard President and CEO Wesley Rogers said in a statement.

“Our focus moving forward is to foster a true sense of community and belonging for our fellow residents and our incredible team members,” added Rogers.

Services will remain unchanged, according to the announcement, which includes short term rehabilitation, long-term care, Alzheimer’s and dementia care.

Brickyard will transform its care centers, website and other “branded pieces” to reflect the rebranding over the coming months.
