ProMedica Names Angela Brandt Senior Care Division President

Angela Brandt is taking the helm as president of ProMedica Senior Care, the Toledo, Ohio-based not-for-profit organization announced Monday.

She is tasked as president with making strategic senior care investments, working with other ProMedica divisions, seeking out new partnerships and ventures, “driving senior care excellence,” and advancing the organization’s holistic care model.

Brandt, who has nearly 25 years of health care industry experience, most recently served as president of ProMedica Physicians. Before that, she worked in various executive and operational leadership roles both at ProMedica and Akron-based Summa Health System.

“As the health care industry continues to work toward improving care delivery, patient outcomes and overall public health, Angela’s broad understanding of health care and her collaborative leadership style will be a true asset in her new role,” Arturo Polizzi, ProMedica chief operating officer, said in the announcement.

Welltower Inc., in a $1.95 billion all-cash deal, acquired Quality Care Properties as a joint venture with ProMedica in April 2018. ProMedica acquired the operations of what was then HCR ManorCare for about $1.35 billion in cash plus the assumption of net liabilities.

The chain of nursing homes and other senior living facilities were rebranded under the “ProMedica Senior Care” brand in October 2020.

Brandt was also a 2017 National Institute of Standards and Technology Baldridge Executive Fellow.

“With divisions that span the health care continuum, ProMedica is committed to advancing a new holistic care model that prioritizes smooth transitions between all care settings, Polizzi said in the press release. “We are confident Angela has the expertise, creativity, and drive to help make it happen.”
