Virginia SNF Gets Second Life as Assisted Living Facility

The Lovingston Health and Rehabilitation Center in Lovingston, Va., was converted into an assisted living center — The Town Creek Assisted Living Center — according to The Daily Progress.

The conversion was made by the Region Ten Community Services Board, which provides behavioral health and developmental services throughout central Virginia. The facility will serve individuals 18 and older who need help with daily living activities and want to stay as independent as possible.

The center closed as a skilled nursing facility in early 2016.

Nelson County sold the building to Region Ten for $1.7 million last year; renovations cost about $2.3 million, The Daily Progress reported.

Cornerstone Healthcare Signs Lease for Kansas SNF

Cornerstone Healthcare leased the Cherryvale Nursing and Rehabilitation skilled nursing facility in Cherryvale, Kan., according to an announcement from CBRE Group, Inc. (NYSE: CBG).

The facility is currently at 57% occupancy, with skilled nursing census at 76%. Daniel Morris with CBRE in Oklahoma City handled the transaction for the landlord.

“Cornerstone Health has other operations within the Kansas market, and they are growing quickly,” Morris said in the announcement.  “They plan to reposition the facility operationally and take advantage of some operational economies of scale.”

Palmer Township Grants Special Approval for Nursing Home

The supervisors of Palmer Township, Penn., gave special permission to a developer to build a four-story nursing home in an Aug. 28 vote, The Express-Times reported.

Pennsylvania Venture Capital and Exchange 3 LLC, which is owned by developer Abraham Atiyeh, submitted a plan for the Palmer Manor nursing home; Atiyeh had received approval from the township zoning hearing board to allow construction on land zoned for heavy industrial purposes.

The plans for the building call for 102 beds and 160 parking spaces.
