King Appointed Executive Director at Life Care Center of Columbia

Life Care Center of Columbia, a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility based in Columbia, Tenn., has welcomed Mark King as its new executive director.

King brings more than 23 years of experience in senior health care, including roughly five years at a skilled nursing and rehab center in Columbia, Tenn., and roughly 15 years at another SNF in Murfreesboro, Tenn.

A native of Murfreesboro, King earned his bachelor’s degree from Lipscomb University in Nashville.

Life Care Center of Columbia in Columbia, Tenn., is one of 27 facilities in the state managed by Life Care Centers of America.

Wingate Healthcare Welcomes Cummings, Scharf

Wingate Healthcare, a Needham, Mass.-based operator of skilled nursing and senior living communities, has welcomed Mark Cummings as its new chief financial officer CFO.

Before joining Wingate, he was a principal in the Boston office of CliftonLarsonAllen, a certified public accounting and consulting firm. There, Cummings was an engagement principal and lead auditor on Wingate’s account for the last 14 years.

Cummings has a bachelor of science in accounting from Bryant University. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants, Mass Senior Care, the New York State Health Facilities Association, LeadingAge Massachusetts, and LeadingAge New York.

In addition, Wingate Healthcare has also appointed Jonathan Scharf as associate general counsel.

Scharf joined Wingate in 2014. Since then, he has focused on litigation, financial, real estate, vendor, and other corporate transactional work.

He began his career as an associate at legal firm Quinn, Emanuel, Urquhart & Sullivan in New York, and later became an associate at Krokidas & Bluestein in Boston, where he practiced general business litigation, including representation of nursing homes in employment matters.

Premier Genesee Appoints New Administrator, Nursing Director

Premier Genesee Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Batavia, N.Y. has welcomed Christine Schaller as its new administrator, and Michael Toole, RN as its new director of nursing.

Previously, Schaller served as the administrator of the facility between 2012 and 2016.

Toole, who most recently served as director of quality assurance for Avanti, resides in Hamburg, N.Y.
