Altercare Enters Agreement to Operate Six Ohio SNFs

Altercare Integrated Health Services, which operates 21 nursing care and rehabilitation centers in Michigan and Ohio, entered an agreement to acquire the operations of six centers in Ohio that are managed by Greystone Healthcare Management. Two remaining facilities are expected to follow in the next several months.

Based in Tampa, Fla., Greystone Healthcare Management manages a health care network that includes assisted living and skilled nursing communities, home health and private duty services, and outpatient rehabilitation.

“Altercare is a highly-respected provider of rehabilitation, nursing and residential services, and we felt their oversight would best benefit our employees and residents,” Connie Bessler, Greystone Healthcare Management president and CEO, said in a release. “Altercare’s vast resources and strong presence in Ohio is a positive for all.”

The facilities will bring additional 541 licensed beds into Altercare’s existing portfolio when they are added. The locations include centers in Adena, Cambridge, Coshocton, Newark, Somerset, Thornville and Janesville, all in Ohio.

Altercare and Greystone Healthcare Management are actively working to close on the transfer of operations, with a proposed effective date of Feb. 1.
