St. Louis Senior Housing Expansions to Include More Skilled Nursing

Friendship Village’s plans to spend $201 million on expansions at two St. Louis senior living communities could bring more skilled nursing care to the area.

As outlined, the expansion would include a 90-bed skilled nursing facility (SNF) with a rehab clinic and gym in the St. Louis suburb of Chesterfield, and a new 144-bed skilled nursing facility in Sunset Hills, according to the St. Louis Business Journal.

Pennsylvania Mixed-Use Development to Include Senior Living, Rehab Facility

A mixed-use development in the works in East Pennsboro Township, Pa., will include a senior living community and a rehabilitation facility.

Plans for the development call for a 49,000-square-foot medical and rehabilitation facility and a four-story senior living community, Penn Live reported.

Planners Mulling New Senior Care Center in Wyoming

An architectural firm is hard at work designing a new senior care center in Jackson, Wyo.

St. John’s Medical Center hired Anderson Mason Dale Architects to design the new center, according to Jackson Hole News and Guide, a local news website. Planners with both organizations are currently determining the mix of long-term care, memory care, short-term rehab and hospice beds.

Minnesota Community Planning Veterans’ Nursing Home

The Minnesota city of Montevideo is moving closer toward its plan to build a new nursing home for veterans.

Minnesota is eligible to add 234 skilled nursing beds under certificate of needs laws, and Montevideo has raised nearly $5 million for the construction of a 70-bed SNF, reported the West Central Tribune

SNF With 90 Beds Planned in Maine

A new 90-bed SNF could start to come together in Sanford, Maine, during the summer or fall of next year.

If all goes according to plan, Sandy River Company would open the SNF in the fall of 2019, according to the Journal Tribune.

Sandy River Company currently owns 11 nursing care facilities in Maine, all of which are operated by Genesis HealthCare.

Construction Underway for $60 Million SNF in New York

Congress/Consigli, a joint venture of Congress Building Corporation and Consigli NY, has started work on the 110,000-square-foot White Plains Institute for Nursing and Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing facility in White Plains, N.Y., according to a press release.

The $60 million project will include 160 skilled nursing beds, according to a press release. Chelsea, Mass.-based The Architectural Team is designing the new facility.

Construction for the SNF is scheduled to wrap up in mid-2019.

Long-Term Care Facility to Open in West Virginia

A new 144-bed long-term care facility is scheduled to open in Wheeling, W.V., early next year.

The new center will replace the Bishop Joseph H. Hodges Continuous Care Center, which is located next to Wheeling Hospital, the Wheeling News-Register reported.

Developer Completes New Mexico SNF

Denver’s National Healthcare Development, an affiliate of National Healthcare Realty, has put the finishing touches on a new skilled nursing and rehab facility in Las Cruces, N.M.

The new rehab center will add 50 new skilled nursing beds to area and include a therapy gym and amenities such as individual patient rooms, a salon and spa, and several outdoor therapy and retreat areas, according to a release.

The facility is leased to Welbrook Senior Living, a Utah-based post-acute provider that has operations throughout the Southwest and in California.
