New York City Residents Vow Fight Over 20-Story Nursing Home
A group of neighbors have promised to continue fighting against a planned 20-story nursing home in New York City, even after the nursing home’s owner won a court battle against them.
Jewish Home Lifecare, which is planning to build the nursing home, recently won a court ruling against neighbors and parents of children at PS 163, the pre-kindergarten school next door, according to the West Side Rag. As planned, the nursing home would have 414 beds for long-term-care and short-term rehab, rooftop gardens, a library and space for training.
The neighbors filed suit over the building’s zoning, meaning another legal battle is likely in the making for the project.
