Work Underway for $30 Million Rehab Facility in Maryland

Construction is moving along for a new FutureCare Health and Management rehab center in Landover, Md.

The $30 million center will have 82 private and 34 semi-private rooms as well as perks and services such as a spa, salon, dialysis, ventilator unit, library, a media room, patios, two gyms and two courtyards, according to the town of Morningside Maryland.

The new facility will offer speech, occupational and physical therapy when it opens next year.

$18 Million SNF Poised to Open Near Jacksonville University

A new skilled nursing facility (SNF) will open soon near the campus of Jacksonville University in Jacksonville, Fla.

The $18 million SNF, Dolphin Pointe Landing, will have 120 beds, according to Wave Magazine, the university’s news hub. The SNF will also let Jacksonville University students get hands-on and volunteering experience.

Nelson Holdings is the project’s developer.

Welbrook Senior Living Breaks Ground on Transitional Rehabilitation Facility in New Mexico

Wellbrook Senior Living has broken ground on what will be its second transitional rehab facility in the state of New Mexico, the company announced.

Welbrook partnered with developer Embree Asset Group to develop the rehab facility in Farmington, N.M. The facility will have 50 private rehabilitation suites for patients and could open later next year.

Va. Gov. Helps Break Ground on SNF

Virginia Gov. Terry McAullife helped move dirt for a new veteran-focused long-term care and rehab center in Virginia Beach.

The 128-bed facility is slated to open in 2020 and will offer skilled nursing care, Alzheimer’s and dementia care and short-term rehab, according to WTKR.

The SNF is meant to honor Air Force Col. William A. Jones, a Medal of Honor recipient from the Vietnam War; and Army Sgt. Christopher Cabacoy, who died in Afghanistan in 2010.

Five Star Completes Short-Term Rehab Center in Arizona

Five Star Senior Living Inc. (Nasdaq: FVE) announced it put the finishing touches on a new short-term rehab center at The Gardens of Scottsdale in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Branded under the company’s “Rehab to Home,” name, the center features private suites with hotel-like amenities such as concierge services, Wi-Fi, high-definition televisions and a restaurant-style dining menu.

New Skilled Nursing Unit Up and Running at Iowa Hospital

There’s a new skilled nursing unit at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa.

The unit is aimed at helping patients transition from hospital to skilled nursing care, reported the Catholic Globe. The unit currently has 10 beds, with another 10 slated to arrive in November.

Patients staying in the wing can receive therapy at the onsite therapy department. The skilled unit also has a dining room, kitchenette, exercise room, television area and staff offices.

Texas SNF Now Complete

Work has wrapped up for the Cedar Pointe Health and Wellness Suites in Cedar Park, Texas

Fundamental, SCI Construction and Pi Architects collaborated to bring the 120-bed project to fruition, according to a press release.

Design features and amenities include a central courtyard with resident suites opening directly onto private stoops, activity spaces, game rooms and a wellness suite with a spa, beauty salon and large physical therapy gym.
