SNF Planned in Iowa
UnityPoint Health is planning to build a new skilled nursing facility (SNF) in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
The SNF will span over 46,000 square feet and have 46 rooms for skilled nursing and short-term rehab services, according to KCRG TV9.
Plans for the $14.9 million facility also call for an outpatient therapy gym and additional green space and parking for residents and their families. The SNF is expected to open in the spring of 2019.
New CCRC Planned in Georgia
A new continuing care retirement community (CCRC) is in the works for Rome, Georgia: The Spires at Berry College. The CCRC is currently showing off plans for the $130 million campus, reported the Rome News-Tribune.
Slated to open in 2019 at the earliest, the new CCRC will be located on undeveloped college land adjacent to the main Berry College campus. The Spires at Berry College will offer skilled nursing, memory care, assisted living and independent living services.

Alabama CCRC Touts Renovations
Fair Haven, a continuing care retirement community (CCRC) in Birmingham, Alabama, has unveiled some new digs.
The Methodist Homes of Alabama & Northwest Florida community added 15 new independent living, 23 assisted living and 59 licensed nursing units.
The project also included changes and upgrades for common areas, including a new beauty parlor and barbershop, gift shop and a grand living room with fireplace.
